HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR KAYAK PADDLE?

You can choose a kayak paddle according to several criteria:

Depending on your level of practice

Itiwit suggests 2 types of activities in KAYAKING:

Kayak for occasional trips

I choose an aluminium paddle.

It is shock resistant.
Kayak for regular trips

I choose a fibre or carbon paddle.

It provides better performance.

Depending on the paddle type

Fixed or detachable paddles (2-pieces / 4-pieces).

1) 4-piece paddles are very compact; they slip into a kayak bag and take up very little space.

2) 2-piece paddles are quite compact and robust. The ideal compromise.

3) Fixed paddles are more robust but less compact. If you are a regular user, this paddle will have less play.

Depending on your size

Hold your arm above the head. The paddle on the floor must reach your wrist (+10 cm for inflatable kayaks).

For convenience purposes (storage, transport): I choose a detachable paddle.
