How to use the itiwit x100 beginner stand-up paddle board

Our team of avid paddlers developed this stand-up paddle board for beginners for half-day trips. This generously sized inflatable board is very stable and easy to use. You can take it cruising or ride small waves. Depending on your weight, you can choose from the 10' (60 to 80kg) or the 11' (over 80 kg).

#1 Inflating and folding the sup

This SUP inflates in 8 minutes using a manual high-pressure pump or an electric pump that plugs into a car cigarette lighter. Then simply install the fin in its rail (no tools required), attach the leash (always use it to remain attached to the board in case you fall off). It is very quick to roll up. First remove the fin, open the valve by pressing the button in the middle (caution, the air is expelled violently, do not position your head above the valve when deflating) and fold it up, starting from the back.

#2 Adjust the paddle, go forward, turn

Before heading out, remember to adjust the length of the paddle according to your height. To go forward, make sure you are holding the paddle the right way round: the paddle must be open towards the front of the board to keep it vertical in the water. Drive the blade completely into the water, reaching as far out in front of you as possible and pulling it out of the water when it is level with your feet. Change sides (and hands) as soon as the board begins to turn.

To turn, there are several techniques with varying levels of difficulty. Have fun trying them all out!

#3 Carry the inflated board using a strap

The x100 SUP is very light and its neoprene carry strap is very comfortable. But if you have inflated your stand-up paddle board far from the water's edge, you might be interested to know that there is a very handy carry strap available to make your life easier and save your arms. This strap fits all widths of SUP and folds into its bag after use so that you can stow it under the elastic at the front of the board when you go on the water.

#4 Use a dry bag or pouch

To take personal items (picnic, smartphone, etc.) on the water, you can put them in a dry bag that you can stow under the elastic at the front of the board. To protect your electronic devices, get yourself a waterproof pouch that you can pop inside your dry bag. If you cannot attach a dry bag to your board, you can use a waterproof backpack.

#5 Sup with kids

Is your child looking at you with envy from the shore while you are out paddling? It might be time to let them discover stand-up paddling and the marine environment. If they are not fully at ease in the water, give them a buoyancy aid (life jacket if they don't know how to swim). Sit them at the front of your board and take them on an adventure! They will soon be wanting to jump in the water to swim alongside the board...

#5 Maritime regulations

A stand-up paddle board is considered a "beach craft" if it is no longer than 3.5 metres (11'6) and, if it is an inflatable, it has only one air chamber. This is the case for the x100 SUP, so you must always stay within 300 metres of the shore, always wear a leash and check the weather forecast before getting in the water (watch out for offshore wind).
